Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

  • Photo ID – This is used to verify identity and to ensure all names and dates match up on the paperwork. e.g. Drivers License, State or Tribal ID, or Passport

  • Medical Intake Form – This form gathers all necessary information the doctor will need ( e.g. Patient history, medications, and images/scans if applicable).
If you attend your appointment with the doctor and they can not qualify you for a medical marijuana card then we issue a full refund! No questions! No BS! No risk to you!
In most cases the refund will be posted the same day, however, depending on your bank it can take up to 72 hours. This is rare and typically only happens if a refund is issued late Friday, it may take until Monday morning to post to your account.

After you’ve met one of our physicians, you will receive an email with a secure link to your patient portal. You can quickly sign in to retrieve your physician statement, recommendation, or certification.

After that you will need to apply directly to the state’s medical marijuana program and pay a state fee.  You will need to upload a series of documents such as a driver’s license, passport style photo, and the physician statement/ recommendation / certification from Wiser Wellness. From there the state will review the application and either approve it, or request corrections.

It is important to note that most states will correspond with you via email.  Because of this, it’s critical you regularly check your email. Failure to respond to any request will lead to the state denying your application, and in some cases, you may have to wait before reapplying.

To ensure that our patients receive the best possible care, we require payment upfront when booking an appointment. This policy was introduced to address the issue of missed appointments, which has been a problem in the past. By asking for payment upfront, we can eliminate those who are not serious about their healthcare needs, while also providing same-day appointments and reducing waiting times for our patients. This also means that our patients can schedule appointments closer to the expiration date of their card, allowing them to maximize their year of coverage. Previously, many patients were only getting 11 months of coverage due to the limited availability of appointments, but our policy has solved that problem.
We accept all major Credit or Debit cards. We do not accept cash, checks, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP EBT Cards, H&R Block Cards, or gift cards.
The transaction will be visible in your bank records/statement as a charge to Wiser Wellness, LLC.

When we say that we are HIPAA compliant, we mean that we adhere to the regulations set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. In summary, HIPAA:

  1. Requires the protection and confidential handling of protected health information, including all medical and prescription records.

  2. Provides the right to transfer and continue health insurance coverage when you change or lose a job.

  3. Mandates industry-wide standards for healthcare information on electronic billing and other processes.

  4. Reduces healthcare fraud and abuse.

  5. These regulations are designed to protect the privacy and security of patients’ personal health information, and as a healthcare provider, we take our responsibility to comply with these regulations very seriously. If a patient wishes to share their medical information with someone else, such as a family member or another healthcare provider, they must provide us with written consent to release that information. Alternatively, if a third party requests access to a patient’s medical information, we must first obtain written authorization from the patient before disclosing any information.

We are confident that once you experience our team and our excellent services, you’ll be extremely satisfied; however, we are proud to offer a 100% no BS money-back guarantee for patients who do not qualify. This guarantee also applies to both our application and support services – If we make a mistake, we will fix it!

However, please note that there are some circumstances under which we are unable to offer refunds. These include situations where the patient does not meet our 24-hour cancellation policy by not answering our calls within the designated time frame, or where services have already been performed. Additionally, we are not able to provide refunds in cases where the state denies the patient’s application for false or inaccurate information the patient provided.

We understand that each patient’s situation is unique, and we are always willing to consider refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions or concerns about our refund policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at: hi@wiserwellness.com

FAQs for Handicap Parking Permits:

To qualify for a handicap parking permit, you must have at least one condition or issue related to the following:

  • Lung disease or difficulty breathing (e.g., COPD, asthma, complications from COVID-19, etc.)
  • Limited mobility due to a neurological, orthopedic, or arthritic condition (e.g., temporary injuries such as strains and sprains, joint replacement, amputations, degenerative or herniated disks, etc.)
  • Inability to walk 200 feet without resting
  • Requirement of a wheelchair, brace, cane, crutch, or other assistive device for walking
  • Need for a portable oxygen tank for breathing assistance
  • Heart condition
  • Disability resulting from acute sensitivity to automobile emissions
  • Physical condition that limits or impairs mobility, comparable in severity to the conditions listed above
  • Permanent placards: Valid for three years
  • Extended temporary placards: Valid for 12 months
  • Temporary placards for short-term injuries or illnesses: Valid for up to six months

Typically, it takes the state a couple of weeks to process and mail your placards once they receive your forms. To expedite the process, we offer a service that includes the doctor’s visit and filing of your forms with the state on the same day. This ensures correct completion of your paperwork and swift submission to the state, increasing the chances of receiving your handicap placard as soon as possible.

No! Wiser Wellness prides itself on transparency and upfront pricing. Unless explicitly stated, you only pay the listed prices without any hidden charges.

Laws vary from state to state, but generally, they share similarities. If you have been issued a handicap placard, it is mandatory to display it from your rearview mirror when parked in designated handicap spaces. However, remember to remove the placard before driving to avoid obstructing the driver’s visibility.

It is illegal to use a handicap parking permit if you are not disabled. Violators risk fines and confiscation of the placard. If you are transporting a disabled person who is present in the vehicle, you may use their handicap parking placard.

If you witness a non-disabled person parking in a handicap space, report the incident to local authorities immediately. All states take handicap parking abuse seriously, so it is crucial not to risk parking in a handicap space without a placard or using someone else’s placard.

Wiser Wellness offers two types of handicap parking permits:

  • Extended temporary placards: Valid for 12 months
  • Temporary placards for short-term injuries or illnesses: Valid for up to six months

Each state has its own laws and regulations, but generally, you can use your handicap parking permit in any state as long as you abide by that state’s specific laws.

Absolutely! Wiser Wellness collaborates with licensed doctors nationwide. Our network of doctors holds active licenses in the states where they practice, and we ensure they maintain their good standing at all times.

Montana FAQs

Having a valid medical marijuana card (MMJ card) can provide several potential benefits, including:

Legal Protection: Possessing a valid medical card allows you to use marijuana legally under Montana state law. This can provide protection against arrest and prosecution for marijuana possession and/or use.

Access to Dispensaries: With a Montana medical marijuana card, you can access every dispensary in the state and over half of these sell cannabis products for medical use only. These dispensaries offer a variety of cannabis products that have been tested for quality and potency, ensuring that you’re using safe and effective products.

Higher Possession and Cultivation Limits: Montana law allows medical marijuana cardholders to possess up to one ounce of usable marijuana and cultivate up to four mature plants and four seedlings. This is higher than the possession and cultivation limits allowed for recreational users.

Lower Tax Rates:
Medical marijuana products in Montana are subject to a significantly lower tax rate than recreational cannabis products, making them a more cost-effective option for patients who require ongoing treatment. Currently, recreational marijuana is taxed at a 20% state tax rate, with most counties imposing an additional 3% excise tax, resulting in a total tax of 23%. In contrast, medical marijuana is only taxed at a 4% state tax rate, with only 1/3rd of the counties imposing an additional 3% excise tax, resulting in a total tax of 4-7 percent for medical marijuana. This means medical marijuana patients can enjoy up to a 19% savings on taxes.

To put this into perspective, if you were to spend $50 a week on recreational cannabis, you would spend $598 in taxes per year. However, if you were to spend $50 a week on medical marijuana, you would only spend between $104 to $182 in taxes per year, saving you up to $494!

Unlike some other platforms or private practices, we pride ourselves on working only with doctors who are passionate about this field of medicine and who maintain all necessary state licensing and continuing education requirements. Our doctors regularly attend multiple cannabis conferences and medical marijuana seminars to stay up-to-date with the latest breakthroughs in MMJ science, ensuring that our patients receive the most advanced and effective treatments available.

You will never find doctors who are only in this field because they have outspent their retirement, or those who have a history of unethical or illegal prescribing practices that left them unemployable. Instead, our team is dedicated to providing compassionate care and helping our patients find relief through medical marijuana treatment.

At Wiser Wellness, we work with licensed Montana physicians who are experts in medical cannabis. To ensure that our patients have access to the best possible care, we have recruited doctors who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that was previously unknown to Montanans.

Wiser Wellness is NOT authorized to issue medical marijuana cards, as this is a responsibility of the state. However, we provide you with the necessary medical examination and documentation to get your card.

We understand that this can be a frustrating process for many patients, which is why we offer an application processing service that guarantees you will get your card once the doctor qualifies you. To take advantage of this service, patients must be able to complete an online electronic form, which includes uploading digital copies of a driver’s license and a photo of themselves.

For an additional fee we may be able to do this process over the phone, but only if electronic files can be sent to us via email or text.

After you submit your application to the state it can take between 2-4 weeks to receive your physical card in the mail; however, once your application is properly submitted the state will issue you a temporary card that you can use for up to 60 days until your physical card comes in the mail.

During the time you are waiting it is important to regularly check your email to ensure the state hasn’t contacted you for corrections or amendments.

Due to HIPAA law, we cannot disclose any patient’s private medical information without obtaining their written consent or a formal written request that is signed by the patient. This means that we cannot share any medical information, including diagnoses, test results, or treatment plans, with anyone who is not authorized by the patient to receive that information.

Arizona FAQs

Legal Protection for the following:
Arizona’s medical cannabis laws provide several protections for medical marijuana patients:

1. Employment

Employers in Arizona are allowed to establish a “drug-free workplace” and this law allows them to discipline, and often terminate (FIRE!) employees who test positive for marijuana. However, medical marijuana patients are protected under this law as long as:

  1. They are not under the influence or impaired on the job.
  2. They don’t possess or consume marijuana or marijuana product while at work.
  3. They have a current and valid medical marijuana card.

Exception to the rule: Marijuana is still Federally Illegal therefore this protection does not apply to positions that carry a safety risk, federal jobs, and private jobs governed by federal law (such as pilots, bus drivers)

2. Housing

Arizona law does not allow landlords to discriminate against medical marijuana patients. Simply put, you can’t be denied a rental contract, or a lease based on your being a medical marijuana patient. However, they still can exclude your pet so be sure to check out our Emotional Support Animal certification for your furry friend. (Coming soon)

3. Driving

NEVER drive under the influence of anything that impairs your judgment, reflexes, or motor skills! Serious, just use a food delivery app for your munchies. However, if you find yourself pulled over and you are worried about testing positive for marijuana you can relax, even if you do test positive medical marijuana patients are excluded from driving under the influence laws.

What that means in plain speak is that if you consumed marijuana the night before and you get pulled over the next day, you’ll most likely test positive, but you would mostly not be impaired, therefore you would not be arrested for “Driving under the influence.” But if you decide to do bong rips at a stop light then you get pulled over for doing 7 mph on the freeway, you’re going to jail!

4. Education
After the State v. Maestas supreme court case, colleges and/or trade schools in Arizona can no longer ban medical marijuana on-site.

5. Nursing Homes

Assisted living facilities and nursing homes may not ban or limit access to and use of marijuana for qualifying patients who live at that facility.

6. Organ Transplants and Medical Care

Medical care and organ transplants may not be denied on the basis of medical marijuana use if the patient holds a valid medical marijuana card.

7. Child Custody and Visitation

Parents may not be denied child custody or visitation rights on the basis of their medical marijuana patient status. Likewise, medical marijuana patients may not have their children removed on the basis of their medical marijuana use.

Dispensary Discounts:
According to Arizona law, a licensed dispensary may offer free cannabis to eligible medical marijuana patients. A significant number of dispensaries offer exclusive medical marijuana discounts to help those who need it.

You get to cut in line:
A large number of dispensaries maintain two separate lines. One line is for recreational uses which can begin before you even get inside. The second line is for medical marijuana patients and is almost always considerably shorter. While there is no law that requires a separate line, most dispensaries prioritize their patients over customers.

An Arizona board-certified physician may recommend medical marijuana to patients with a debilitating condition. The qualifying conditions in Arizona include:

  • Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Cachexia or wasting syndrome.
  • Cancer
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Glaucoma
  • Hepatitis C
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • Persistent Muscle Spasms
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Seizures
  • Severe and Chronic Pain
  • Severe Nausea

According to Arizona’s medical cannabis laws, medical marijuana patients can purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana every two weeks and possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana. All purchases are logged under the state’s track-and-trace system, so buyers cannot get around these limits by shopping at multiple dispensaries.

The Arizona Allotment Checker allows medical marijuana patients to track their cannabis purchase history online and check how much more they can buy in a given two-week allotment period. Budtenders can also use the Arizona Allotment Checker to see how many grams and ounces you are still allowed to buy.
